Ce sera le grand rendez-vous européen de la recherche dans le domaine des TIC. Il se tiendra dans le cadre de la présidence française de l’Union européenne, le rendez-vous international « ICT 2008 : inventer le futur » se tiendra à Lyon, du 25 au 27 novembre. Il y sera traité des grandes tendances actuelles en matière de technologies de l’information et de la communication (TIC) telles que les nouveaux paradigmes de calculs, les bio et nano-TIC, la photonique, la domotique, la robotique cognitive et les TIC destinées aux sciences. L’objectif de cet événement européen est d’annoncer le programme de travail des années suivantes et les budgets mis en oeuvre par le programme cadre européen (PCRDT) et favoriser les rencontres entre partenaires potentiels.

A l’occasion du lancement des Assises du numérique, le 29 mai dernier à l’Université de Paris Dauphine, Eric Besson, secrétaire d’Etat en charge du développement de l’économie numérique, a proposé 27 pistes de travail ouvertes à la concertation afin de placer la France, à l’horizon 2012, aux premiers rangs de l’industrie mondiale du numérique. A cet effet, une centaine d’ateliers se tiendront tout au long du mois de juin à Paris, en régions et sur internet. Ces ateliers thématiques couvriront des sujets tant économiques, que sociaux et culturels, regroupés dans quatre volets principaux : réseaux, contenus, usages et gouvernance.
Le site Internet www.assisesdunumerique.fr permet à chacun de participer à la réflexion engagée en y apportant sa contribution. L’ensemble des acteurs de l’économie numérique, opérateurs de réseaux, équipementiers, entreprises du logiciel et des services, producteurs de contenus, créateurs, associations, utilisateurs, est invité à participer à cette démarche. A la fin des travaux, sera éléboré un plan d’actions qu’Eric Besson est chargé de présenter avant fin juillet et qui devra faire de la France, à l’horizon 2012, une « puissance numérique à l’égal des économies les plus dynamiques de notre planète ».

La grande manifestation mondiale consacrée aux technologies de l’information sera, cette année, ITU TELECOM WORLD 2006, et elle se déroulera du 4 au 8 décembre à Hong Kong (Chine). A cette occasion, se rencontreront représentants éminents des plus grandes entreprises du secteur des technologies de l’information dans le monde, dont Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Ericsson, NEC Corporation, Fujitsu, Intel, Alcatel, HP, Qualcomm, Samsung, Toshiba, Siemens et Motorola, décideurs de premier plan, régulateurs et spécialistes de ce domaine pour débattre de l’avenir des technologies de l’information et des perspectives qu’elles offrent.
