Les européens sont de plus en plus nombreux à regarder la télévision sur IP (IPTV). En 2009, ils seront 8,7 millions à regarder la télévision grâce à cette technologie, nous indique la dernière étude de Screen Digest.
Actuellement, les abonnés à la TV sur IP sont 658 000 abonnés. En augmenetation de 66% de janvier à juin 2005 ! D’où la multiplication des offres de dégroupage total des opérateurs alternatifs. L’IPTV est bien une nouvelle source de revenus.
La France serait le plus gros marché pour la télévision numérique, indique Screen Digest., et devrait maintenir sa place jusqu’en 2009. D’ici là, le nombre d’abonnés devrait atteindre 2,4 millions.
Actuellement en France, France Télécom, Free et Neuf Telecom comptabilisent 280 000 clients. L’offre Triple Play (téléphonie, télévision, Internet) a de beau jour devant elle. Et l’offre quadruple play ? lorsqu’on y ajoutera la fonction domotique…
